• Can I make a monetary donation?

Our team is seeking gifts-in-kind (non-cash) donations (for example, new hammers, crowbars, screwdrivers,etc.). However, Samaritan's Purse will accept monetary donations directly on their web site: https://www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/us-disaster-relief/

  • How will my donation of tools get to the people who need them?

Our disaster relief team will organize pick-up, storage, and shipping to the disaster relief distribution point. Our class is working with a variety of logistics and warehousing providers who have donated their services.

  • Will my donation be applicable for a tax deduction?

Yes. Samaritan’s Purse is a 501(c)(3) organization. Cash donations through their website will be receipted directly from Samaritan’s Purse.

Tools you drop off to our team are considered an in-kind (or non-cash) gift. As long as we have your name and address and a description of your donation, an acknowledgement from Samaritan’s Purse will be mailed to you after we ship all of the tools to the disaster relief distribution point (by Thanksgiving 2017).  Per the IRS, the amount of your charitable contribution is generally the fair market value of the property.
